Thus far I have not given any spoilers out for any of the games, but sadly this news was left a bit late as it contains spoilers - highlight the black spot to see the winner. As you have seen EGIdra....... gave a great performance throughout the entire IPL and managed to pull of the win, however both players gave a great set of games for the final - if you have not seen them then go watch them over at the IGN Website - they are still avaliable for free and the quality of the VOD's is utterly fantastic - link below.

Overall the IPL has blown myself and practically all of the SC2 community away with disbelief, other than some tit releasing spoilers early on the event was a flawless victory, meeting the quality of the Korean shows and setting the standard for the American SC2 scene. Here's hoping Season 2 is just as good, if not better - so stay tuned for more information about the who/what/where/when about the event so you don't miss a thing!

Final words and thanks go to all the casters, www.ign.com, and www.wellplayed.org for putting out a fantastic event - 10/10 !

Brink is just 7 days away from release in the US and 10 days for us here in Europe. The game looks to bring some promise to the PC community, public server files have been announced and the recent videos show the game should suit the Battlefield community.

Big questions are still to be answered about the game; will it have proper pc support with actual recoil etc and will it support competitive play? So many games have been released over the last few years with the lack of instant pc support and competitive features; will Brink be the beginning of the end of this? It seems we won’t fully know until the game is released. As with most recent games the developer is keeping their cards close to their chest and are not releasing full information about the PC version.

One thing is sure that if there is support for client side config settings then we will have a config program released on day one of release. Building on the success that was the Crysis 2 Configurator with aproximately 35,000 downloads since the demo version, the Brink configurator will be fine tunned and ready to launch for release day one. I have already started modifying the code ready for Brink’s release and I am waiting on hearing about the available client settings!

Follow me on twitter www.twitter.com/rjay_w the developer of the Crysis2Config program and I will keep you updated with the progress of the program!

fpfirefallbannerA little bit Team Fortres 2, a little bit Tribes,Firefall is set 200 years in Earth’s future where (and when) humanity is on the brink of annihilation at the hands of an insectoid alien race. Several persistent world MMOFPS games like PlanetSide, Global Agenda, and Tabula Rasa have come and gone but Firefall looks to transform the genre.

With a stellar development team whose members include the team lead of World of Warcraft and lead designer of Tribes, Firefall promises high production value and a sleek, original art style. Players will be able to work cooperatively to overcome alien forces, or take part in a variety of competitive multiplayer game modes. Firefall is already accepting beta applications, but is not scheduled for release until the end of 2011.

You can sign up for the beta over at www.firefallthegame.com

The Ark was built off the coast of San Francisco by the founders as a vision of the future, a future without population. A cleaner and higher status of living. Built as a prototype of a self contained city atop the ocean, it was also the first successful floating city. A place where scientists and brilliant minds could make their dreams a reality. It didn't last long as soon the prolonged effects of global population took their final toll.

The polar ice caps finally melted, with sea levels drastically risen most towns and cities became flooded others completely submerged. Causing wide spread panic, many around the globe rushed to the Ark for safety. In the original design it was constructed to house a per population of 5,000, but too soon it began so overpopulated that the founders could not maintain control, order was lost, riots broke out over resources and the refugees struggled for what ever else remained.

As you all knew the IGN Pro League has been going for the last few days now, with the best north american players meeting in double elimination.

So far the tournament has been very impressive, with IGN streaming their content out for free live, which is impressive in itself but when you see the high production value of the content - IGN truely has a league to be proud of.

The matches themselves have provided some suprises and quite frankly gob smacking results. I admit I have not watched every match, as the 1am GMT streaming time, 3 days in a row, really gets the better of me so have fallen back to VOD's to catch up on.

A full set of tournament brackets can be found at

I'll give a quick insight into the remaining upper and lower bracket matches:

Cat's out the bag folks, and the info is straight from the horses mouth. Well DICE's Patrick Bach's mouth in a recent interview with xbox world. Yes I know guys....xbox...consoles....not the info we really wanted BUT later revealed Patrick did not mean a demo as such, but the multiplayer beta. Once companies start making announcements like this its a very good sign the game is taking shape and ready for testing. So guys if your desperate for a BF3 fix then maybe a quick play on a mates console will ease your cravings....but.here's hopeing however for a REAL announcement of when we can play the Frostbite engine 2 on PC VERY soon - will keep you posted! (pretty please DICE?)

fptrackmania2bannerWhile no secret has been made of Trackmania 2's development, with its first reveal dating back to over a year ago, it has been a while since we have seen much about the game itself. In the original trailer we saw that the game was taking a more 'realistic' art design this time, but 110% keeping the same quality game play and absolutely mental jumps and track designs. This trailer revealed a little new information:

If your a fan of Trackmania - or any driving game for that matter - then on the 12th of May PC Gamer and EDGE magazine need to be bought as they are set to contain some in depth feature in each of them regarding Trackmania 2. The 30s trailer was great to see, and looks fantastic, so I certainly will be buying those magazines to see what Trackmania 2 has in store for us all!

fpstarcraftbannerTo kick off Rush's coverage of SC2, what better way to do so than to do so with a brand new spanking tournament to follow? The much anticipated IGN Pro League is a North American league where 16 top tier players lock horns in a double elimination tournament, all with eyes on getting some of that $5000 prize pool.

Commentating the games is one of my favourite casters, TotalBiscuit, along with DJ Wheat, HD Starcraft, and LG Painuser. The matches begin today at 8pm EST, which is 1am GMT (on the 22nd). I'll probably be checking out the footage live, but rest assured I'll be checking up on the tournament and reviewing it as it goes along, and if I can get my hands on some replays will make the very first Rush TV casts!

Overall their are some great players in this tournament and it is hard to pick out a winner - so lets hope the matches produced represent the high skill level of the North American Starcraft scene. Full match and player line ups can be found over at http://www.ign.com/ipl
