However something seems to have changed and City Interactive are aiming very high with their new game. Currently nobody expects that Sniper: Ghost Warrior will be next AAA title like Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood was, but prehaps we're all wrong?
Looking at the first short gameplay movie released today I can say that the game seems to have a lot of potential that prehaps can be realised if creators are able to polish their title before the game's release. The main reason that this game can be compared to Call of Juarez is that it runs on the same engine, Chrome 4.
There's nothing much to say about the story or the overall game characteristics. You play as a member of an elite squad on "Isla Trueno" somewhere in south America and your goal is to eliminate general Vasquez and bring piece, justice and democracy to the land. We all know how it ends (oil for food). The game will have multiplayer of up to 16 players, (why 16? Make it 2, that can be fun.) it will be released on PC and Xbox 360 later this summer. The exact date is still to be announced.
The creators say that game will please not only unskilled Xbox 360 noobs but also hardcore gamers, giving them a ridiculous easy mode and others an interesting hardcore mode. It's worth mentioning the fact that the creators decided to go with an old school heath regeneration system that will not work automatically but instead requires you to stab yourself in the heart with panacea, similar to Bad Company on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Stabbing feels cheap, and limited health injectors dramatically change the gameplay, giving it more "think" value. How console players handle that tough task, we shall see. Check out the trailer and see for yourself. Here's the link to some footage of the gameplay but be warned the game is being played in easy mode and the commentary is in Polish, so if you don't want to listen all that MEC Kum bula, Kum bula turn of the audio :).
