Battlefield 3 Guide Part 1

fpbf3originbannerOver the coming months we will be publishing a few tips and guides for some games, Here is the 1st part of our Battlefield 3 Guide written by RZ-CoRE

Infantry Tactics:

Movement and positioning.
In Battlefield 3 it is really importand how you move around. When standing behind a corner and you have to pop out do it really fast. Because if an enemy is holding that corner and you come around that corner and just ''stand'' there you will die, what you allso could do is prefire around that corner to get him supressed or get some bullets on him.

When you know that he is there you can do 2 things, run away and let him come to you, or shoot him. What I suggest is throwing a grenade on his position (to bait him out) and then you simply have to pop out and shoot him while he is dodging that grenade. What you allso could do is throw a grenade in the air towards his positon, he wont have a clue that  a grenade is about to explode right on top of him, if it doesn't kill him he will either hide to gain some health or he will hold your postion, in that case a few bullets on him will be enough to kill him. What I want you to do is practice throwing grenades like this, just straight up the air with a slight angle and get a position you want it to land, keep practicing, eventually every grenade will be a succes. Most people waste their frags, but they can change a battle. So use it in your favor.

Another case is if you don't have to push because you are bleeding their tickets (by having more flags than them) simply let him stay there maybe put some pressure on him and go back and let him push you. The roles are changed now you will be in a favored position.

Infantry is all about who has better odds of winning a fight. It's simple: is he holding a position and you have to attack him he is favored, vice verca, in other words the defender is always in a favoured position.

Now let's talk about when both the enemy and you are in an attacking position. It's very simple, depending on eachothers aim the best aimer wins. What you could do is just hipfire shoot him and zoom in while shooting, or go to crouch. It is very important that you stay moving. It's like go left right, left right, left right, all the time, never stand still. Stand still and he wins. I highly suggest that you stop jumping around corners, only jump when you're going across an open area which an enemy is defending. Allso before going around a corner do it slowly zoomed in, if he comes running towards you he's a dead man.

Another tip on that is: If you need to be fast Spam Shift (Sprint) if you dont want to be too slow, doing this is inbetween normall running and sprinting, you are not slow but not that fast either. Try it out and see for yourself what I mean by this, it's like you sprint for a second and stop for a second, atleast if you do it correctly it will look like that. Or else you're not doing it right.

How to win a 3v1 situation: Let's say you know there's 3 guys about to come around a corner, now how the do you win that? Simple: make those 3 guys fight you separately, meaning make it 1vs1, 1vs1 and 1vs1, in a defending postion the odds of you killing them all is better than if you fight them all at the same time. Example on how you should achieve this: most likely they will be standing out of eachother, one taking the corner wide and one making it a close corner: Take the one who takes the corner wide out first. See picture one as example:

Now that we've seen how you should stand for taking out one of them hold again, as seen in the next picture (Remember, if you have a grenade throw it straight up to that corner, or use it as bait for the last guys):

As you can see when you compare those pictures one is holding the wide angle, and the other one holding a close angle, these pictures are just examples, you might want to do it differently than suggested above.

The 3rd guy is a totall geusse if he will come at all, but it is vital that you take him out if he comes, don't let him kill you, he can either revive his mates or he moves on and they spawn on him, in that case you've only delayed them, which in some situations is the right thing to do, like if you know you have back-up coming your way.

Cover at all times, this is allso really important, never let the enemy see your entire body. Even when you're running down the street, when there's only one corner that they can come from you should angle yourself inbetween an object. Like there's a corner then a random object and then comes you. If you do it correctly you will pop out without them realising that you are there, because they will be looking down the road to hold that position, thinking there's no one coming.

Simple Example right here:

I've been talking about the basic stuff that you should know to be a more effective infantry player and loose some of those unnesaccery deaths, which can change the entire outcome of a match.
There's more to come, so stay tuned!
