Yesterday saw both Epsilon eSports and Team Rush battle it out in a very climactic final of the 4pl's 8on8 conquest cup. On paper the game looked like it would be a very interesting match and this was proven by it ending in just a narrow margin of 5 tickets. However, Team Rush managed to clinch the game away using old school BF2 tactics of holding spawns and taking first place of the first and largest Battlefield 3 tournament to date so far. Twenty four teams entered 4pl's Launch day conquest cup which was sponsored by Razer. The tournament first got underway with Teheran Highway being the first map. Rush drew a bye and quickly waited the two hours for the second round to start. In the second round they drew up against Division Wüstenfuchs (Desert Fox) and the match promptly got underway with Rush managing to defeat their opponents and move through to the third round. Coming from Seine Crossing their next match was to be played on Grand Bazaar against a team called GIVE IT ALL e.V. Unfortunately, giving it their all was not good enough to topple Team Rush who once again promptly managed to secure the victory. Rush managed to prove themselves once again in the semi-finals on Kharg Island and proceeded to the finals where they met up with Epsilon.

The finals, and third place match respectfully was to be played on Damavand Peak, five days after the initial start of the tournament. Gamed.de who was previously knocked out by Epsilon managed to claim third place after defeating rotgelbgrn. As for the finals, Team Rush started on the US side and Epsilon subsequently on the Russian. Rush managed to promptly capture and hold the first two flags bringing in a nice deficit of around 70 tickets. Things were looking comfy for Rush until Epsilon managed to sneak around behind them making use of the Littlebird and capture Rush's starting flag, ‘A’. Because of this event, Rush then had to back track and reclaim their 'A' flag which in the mean time allowed Epsilon to capture and hold the 'B' flag. This allowed Epsilon to turn the tide of battle and narrowly win the first round with 24 tickets to spare.

After a brief pause the match then resumed with teams battling from the opposite forces,
Epsilon the United States and Team Rush as the Russian forces. Rush quickly off the mark managed to take both 'C', their base flag and 'B', the interconnecting tunnel. The neutral flag 'B' in this case was wrestled for and changed hands a numerous amount of times. Epsilon managed to slightly edge their way ahead of Rush in tickets. However, Rush was not ready to give up easily. After some careful, slow and methodical play Rush managed to push Epsilon off the tunnel flag. Knowing tickets was short and the match was going to go down to the wire they played very cautiously as to not give up any free tickets. The match slowly grinded to its end and as the last few tickets counted down Epsilon managed to take out a fair amount of Rush's forces. However being well experienced and knowledgeable in Battlefield eSports Rush held their spawns knowing that Epsilon’s tickets would fade before their ticket counter would reach 24. After doing this the match ended with Team Rush having 29 tickets left, beating Epsilons Russian half by a mere 5 tickets. And thus we present to you the winners of the first Battlefield 3 cup, Team Rush.

A massive congratulations from the management staff of Rush-Zone to our Battlefield 3 players. and special thanks to our friends over at Diabolic Servers for providing smooth and lag free servers for our team.

DICE needs to hurry up and release a battlerecoder / spectate function so we can watch it live or watch a replay.
